Central Massachusetts Community Meeting

South and Central Worcester County

“Reclaiming Brownfield’s in Our Region”

Southbridge Town Hall
41 Elm Street
Southbridge, MA 01550

Tuesday October 9th 2007
7 p.m.

The Central Massachusetts Regional Planning Commission (CMRPC) would like to invite you to a public meeting to discuss the issue of brownfields in Worcester County and the submission of two proposals by CMRPC to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA); a Hazardous Materials and a Petroleum Assessment Grant. Brownfield’s are sites that have pollution issues that are preventing their redevelopment. These two grant proposals would provide funding to help communities redevelop these contaminated sites into new housing, parks, businesses, retail stores, and jobs.

The purpose of the meeting is to discuss the brownfields issue in Worcester County and to allow for review and comment of the FRA’s two Brownfield proposals that will be submitted in October 2007. A draft of the final proposals will be available at the meeting for your review and comment. A copy can also be viewed at the offices of CMRPC located at 35 Harvard Street, Worcester Massachusetts. You may also call CMRPC’s office at 508-459-3330 to find out more information. By working together our region can reclaim valuable land in our communities for jobs, housing, and open space.
