Regional Planner – Community Development and Planning

The Central Mass Regional Planning Commission, serving 40 communities in southern Worcester County, seeks an experienced, innovative, and team-oriented planner to join its multi-disciplinary Community Development and Planning staff. This division provides a broad spectrum of support and technical services, including neighborhood, community and economic development planning; energy; zoning bylaw and subdivision regulation assistance; master and open space planning; and a variety of grant-writing and administration services.

CMRPC seeks a planner with proven capabilities in securing and administering a variety of grants. Direct experience with CDBG is strongly preferred. The selected individual will be capable of identifying and securing a variety of grant funding for programs through CDBG, US EDA, private foundations and others. The selected individual will also administer some of the projects for which funding is secured. Ideally, the selected individual will also have the capacity and enthusiasm to work outside the typical grants arena.

Masters degree with three years of relevant professional experience, or a Bachelors degree with five years of relevant professional experience, is required. Starting salary is $47,900-$54,000, depending on qualifications and experience. In addition to competitive compensation, CMRPC offers a terrific work environment and excellent benefits package.
