Commonly referred to as CDAP, the Community Development Assistance Program is one of three major departments of CMRPC. Since the Commission was established in 1963, CDAP has expanded its services to meet the growing need for professional management. Some of the services provided by CDAP include:
- Regional Planning and Land Use projects
- Local Planning Assistance
- Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) grantsmanship and administration
- Data research and forecasts
- Oversight of the U.S. Economic Development Administration’s (EDA)
- Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) process in conjunction with the City of Worcester’s Economic Development Division.
CDAP's multi-faceted activities are supported by a program staff and the Physical Development Committee consisting of Commission members and technical representatives of the region's planning environmental community.
Physical Development Committee
The Physical Development Committee is a Commission appointed committee charged with advising the Commission and staff on policy and project concerns related to various planning and development projects throughout the region.
