Municipalities Organized for Regional Effectiveness

         Contact: Rosemary Scrivens (508) 459-3336

What is MORE’s purpose?
This program’s overriding goal is to break down the town boundary barriers and cultivate a true sense of regional collaboration in the Central Massachusetts region. There will be a two-pronged approach:

  • Provide nuts and bolts solutions, such as group procurement
  • Build cohesive, regional political strength to provide big picture solutions

What specifically will MORE provide?

  • Coordination of Service Contracts (ie. Waste disposal, paving)
  • Joint Purchasing
  • Municipal Group Training & Employee Sharing/Coordination
  • Interlocal Agreements
  • Central Repository of Information (demographics, bid specifications)
  • Legislative Coordination -- updating on legislative impacts
  • …And more

How is MORE to be funded?
Through community investments, vendor service fees, and some initial CMRPC funding. Eventually private sector contributions and grants will be solicited.

How is MORE to be directed and staffed?
CMRPC provides the administrative support and programmatic guidance. Town Managers/Administrators/Executive Secretaries represent the town membership.
