Route 122 Scenic Byway Meeting Notices

What Makes Route 122 so Scenic?

You tell us!

As you know, the Central Massachusetts Regional Planning Commission (CMRPC) is preparing a Scenic Byway Management Plan for Route 122 – North, a project that takes in the towns of Paxton, Rutland, Oakham, Barre and Petersham.

We are now in the resource inventory phase and need your help mapping the scenic vistas and views along Route 122. For this effort, we’ve prepared topographic maps for each of the five towns, as well as a region-wide topographic map. We will spread out the maps and provide a set of markers for your use as together we map the Byway’s scenic locations. We will also solicit your input regarding the region’s cultural resources.

As we consider you to be one of the Byway’s Stakeholders, we hereby invite you to attend and participate in the following public forum:

Route 122 Scenic Byway Project – Scenic Resource Mapping Session
Thursday January 24, 2008
7:00 PM – 9:00 PM

We are on track to complete the resource inventory portion of the management plan in the Spring of 2008, and will then commence discussions about how to preserve the Byway’s resources and what on-the-ground enhancements we want to recommend for the Route 122 corridor.

Light refreshments will be provided. For additional information, please contact Stephen Wallace, CMRPC Land Use Planner by phone (508-459-3320) or e-mail (swallace@cmrpc.org).
