REGIONAL DEVELOPMENT SUITABILITY MODEL
Constraints (0's and 1's)

In this model, constraints represent areas which can not be developed. These constraints are represented by a zero value, and are shown in red. Areas in white represent the land in the region that is available for evaluation by the model.
The constraints used in this model are:
Developed Land - (based on interpreted aerial photography from 1985 supplemented with 1992 SPOT satellite imagery)
Hydrologic Features - (ponds and streams, wetlands and 100 year FEMA floodplains)
Permanently Protected Open Space - Derived from MassGIS 1997 Statewide Open Space datalayer
Public Wellhead Protection Zones - Derived from MassGIS 1997 Statewide Wellhead Protection datalayer
Worcester - Because of the predominance of redevelopment in the city, Worcester is not currently included.
