Career Opportunity - Contract Specialist

The Central Massachusetts Regional Planning Commission (CMRPC) located in Worcester seeks a full-time Contract Specialist to join its Regional Services/Municipal Collaboration team. Duties will include assisting with the procurement of goods and services for our member communities and the administration of Homeland Security Grants for the Central [Massachusetts] Region. The successful applicant must have a strong background in federal, state and local grant and contract administration. The successful applicant will work closely with the Homeland Security Program Manager and other municipal safety officials as well as municipal officials in the identification and implementation of cost saving and efficient strategies. This position involves complex work in procurement of a variety of supplies, equipment, and professional consulting services.
 
Qualifications include a BA in business administration, finance, public administration, grant management, or related field, plus three to five years of relevant work experience. Applicants must be proficient in Word, Excel and must have strong verbal and written skills. Familiarity with Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), and other federal grant applications and administration a plus. The position will require travel in and around Worcester County therefor reliable transportation is essential. Additionally, evening meetings may be required from time to time. Salary range is expected to be $50,000 to $60,000 per year depending on qualifications.
