Regionalization Assistance Now Available
CMRPC is once again soliciting proposals from municipalities under which we can provide technical assistance through the District Local Technical Assistance (DLTA) Program. This program allows CMRPC to provide technical assistance to our member communities to advance municipal partnerships.
The purpose of this funding is to encourage and enable municipalities to work together to achieve and/or enhance cost-effective delivery of municipal services, or to create and sustain ongoing collaboration and consultation on issues affecting the municipalities, such as land use and planning for new economic and housing growth. The goal of the DLTA funding program is to direct these funds to projects/activities that result in measurable change in the municipalities. CMRPC will work with member communities to accomplish this goal, whether through regulatory changes, program management, or practice.
In previous years, we have worked with a number of communities who were exploring joint purchasing activity, combined human resources positions, regionalized animal control services, joint emergency dispatching, and other efforts to coordinate and streamline various municipal services.
A complete description of this year’s funding opportunity, including a form to request our technical assistance, is available.
